Things to Do

Adventure

Beyond our butterfly garden and woods awaits a plethora of adventures

The area is a hiker’s paradise. Capitalize on the short hike from our garden to the upper Montezuma waterfalls. Hike along seven beaches to view Cocolito Falls cascading into the ocean, or hike through the majesty of old growth forest at Cabo Blanco Reserve.www.nicoyapeninsula.com/caboblanco/.Hiking not your thing? Explore more falls and the beaches from horseback. (You can mount up at our front door.) For a faster pace navigate the neighborhood by ATV.

For a unique thrill traverse the jungle canopy via zip lines. (Our local canopy tour features a cool respite in the fresh water pools of the upper falls!) Want to increase the aerial thrill yet savor the experience? Try gliding over paradise via an ultra-light craft.

Montezuma teems with water activities. Take a day trip and boat to Turtle Island for a unique snorkel experience (The lunchtime beach bar-b-cue is always a palate pleasing event.) Inquire about area scuba excursions for a glimpse under the deep blue sea. Catch a wave at some of the finest surfing beaches in Costa Rica.  Cook up a fresh seafood dinner after some shoreline fishing, or charter a sports fishing boat for the really big game. Relax on the multitude of beaches; swim, sun, comb the sands.

Enough of the beach? 35 minutes by car and you can either play the links at Las Delfines 18 hole golf course, or play your luck at Casino Tambor.

Shopping

From Italian bikinis to exotic jewelry, traditional souvenirs to local crafts, peruse Montezuma’s small shops and engage with local street artisans to find that perfect something.

Food

While in Montezuma indulge in typical food such as: gallo pinto, casados, patacones, and the ever-so-popular batidos. In addition, you can find organic, raw, vegetarian/vegan or fresh seafood cuisine. From fine dining to cheap local fare there is something for every palate and pocketbook.

The Night Scene

Luz de Mono, Restaurant Montezuma, and Chico’s Bar keep the late night hopping with music, dance and drink. Bottom line you can’t escape Montezuma’s ultimate “bar”, la calle, as everyone gathers to drink in the streets.
